A Chubby Girl

Sunday, March 30, 2008

20 lbs. 4 oz. and 28 inches long! She's now in the 10th percentile of the growth chart.

Happy Easter!

Sunday, March 23, 2008

Easter in our house has involved the following: church, bathing Caroline, baking, Mormon Tab. Choir Easter music, napping, movies (Easter Parade and the end of Lawrence of Arabia), and a photoshoot. Hope your Easter has been as pleasant as ours.

Easter smiles

This little teether loves her paci

Daddy's little girl

Hmmm...let me think....

Our Easter egg

A chubby bug.

The hair everyone is talking about.

Doing her best to sit up.

"Isn't Sunday supposed to be a day of rest?"

"I'd rather have Easter candy than an Easter photoshoot."

I hate to post a sad picture, but this one showed off her new teeth the best. She also has two teeth on the bottom.

Our doll.

I love her cute face.

My heart is full of gratitude today. We believe in Jesus Christ and His Resurrection. This Easter, in a way that I haven't felt before, I am so thankful for the Savior and for that testimony of His mission. His Resurrection gives us hope and reminds us that, one day, our beautiful girl will have the perfect body and mind she so dearly deserves. If we live our lives as best we can, we will be able to see her whole for all eternity.

Only my cousin...

Monday, March 17, 2008

could get me to do one of these list things. But she tagged me, so I must comply with her request. Cousin loyalty!

10 YEARS AGO: Rang in my 18th bday with a rager at my house, complete with my favorite band Agouraphobia playing for the night; my mom's taquitos and Jenga also made an appearance

1. Get copy to design company for Ensign Classic invitation (charity event I run)
2. Find suitable drapes for our home
3. Pedicure
4. Make grocery list
5. Watch last week's LOST

1. Chips and Salsa
2. TJ Cracked Wheat Sourdough Bread w/Nestle Quik Hot Choc.
3. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray (Anyone who knows me at all knows there's a good reason why ICBINBS is its own entity on this list)
4. Chocolate Chips
5. Goldfish (I heart those fishies)

Saratoga, CA
Agoura Hills, CA
Washington, D.C.
Provo, UT
Vegas, Baby, Vegas

What wouldn't I do....
For starters,
-Move to CA, get a one-story house so I wouldn't have to carry C and her O2 tank up and down stairs everyday
-Buy a villa in Italy
- Get a nurse to travel with us
- B, C, and I (and nurse for C) would live in Italy for months, traveling to other parts of Europe intermittently (friends and family could come visit:)
- pay for all of C's appointments to come to us rather than us go to them!!!
- Start a foundation to alleviate the financial and emotional stress of families with special-needs kids
- Buy Bryce a Porsche and a Bentley - the Bentley would come with a driver so Bryce wouldn't have to worry about pesky things like understanding maps or following directions
- Buy myself a Range Rover and a Lamborghini (you know, something simple and understated)

You get the idea...

Umpire with BYU Intramurals (Seriously, I was fun too, I did a very theatrical "You're OUT" - now if only I'd known when to say it properly...)
Cannon for Congress Events Coordinator
Huntsman for Governor Utah Co Coordinator
Nordstrom Retail (Oh yes, I lived the dream for a few short months [said w/sarcasm in case you weren't sure])
Fundraiser for Heller for Congress

1. Though I swore to never succumb, I am now a "Heroes" fan
2. I watch Oprah almost everyday (yes, I am now one of those girls, but I swear I don't worship her.....yet)
3. For some reason, I was an All-Star softball player in Elementary School
4. I'm currently shopping for a new car
5. I love dancing -one of the many reasons why Becca and I made such great roommates

YOU'VE BEEN TAGGED: Melissa, Suzanne, Annie B, Sarah, and Erica T (when their blogs are ready)

Video of the First Lollypop

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

Here's that video I mentioned in the last post - enjoy!

Whad up, sucka.

Sunday, March 2, 2008

I'm back after busy days of being sick again, caring for my sick husband, working, and, throughout, getting Caroline to all her appointments and caring for her.

Anyway, as you can see, C has a Dum-Dum in her mouth! That's because her speech therapist recommended it as a way to stimulate her mouth's sensitivity. Because she has a G-Tube and eats nothing by mouth right now, she is at risk for getting an oral aversion (not comfortable with eating or touch in and around her mouth) because she may have a hard time associating the mouth with getting rid of hunger. So we give her the sucker to help her learn that eating is a good thing!

I have a vcute video of her sucking on the lollypop - the site isn't allowing me to upload it for some reason. Once I fix whatever's going on, I'll upload it, so be on the lookout.

Latest numbers:
C is now 17 pounds 11.5 ounces and 27 1/2 inches long. She continues to hug the edge of the typical growth curve.
