Caroline's Surgery

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Caro had to have another surgery on her heart on Friday. She had a Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA) that needed to be fixed. Thankfully, her cardiologist was able to perform the surgery using a catheter-based procedure on an out-patient basis. Still, it was a long day for us as she had to be observed in the recovery room for nearly seven hours before we were allowed to take her home.

This is us just 90 minutes before we were allowed to go home. As you can see, despite having to be poked and prodded all day, Caro was still in good spirits.

We feel very blessed that the surgery was successful and that Caro was able to come home with us the same day as her surgery. She's slept more than usual over the past couple of days, but other than that, has made a complete and full recovery!

  1. I'm so glad that everything went well. She is such a brave little kiddo. Love you guys!

  2. What a blessing that she has done so well.

  3. What a cute smile, Caroline! We are happy everything went so smoothly! Yesterday I was working on New Family Search with the records we received from our cousin, Bernhard Auer, in Austria last June. I came across a Karolina Larcher who married our ggg-uncle Jakob Auer in Kaunertal,Tirol, Austria on 25 May 1852!
